Lighting up Celebration Weekend

October 18, 2022

With the campus glowing in green, fireworks, and opportunities to celebrate all that has defined and continues to define Â鶹Æƽâ°æ, the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ community came together for an exciting Celebration Weekend filled with fun, family, and friends.

This year’s festivities were particularly meaningful as Â鶹Æƽâ°æ marks its College Centennial during the 2022-23 academic year. In celebration of 100 years of creative thought, Â鶹Æƽâ°æ lit up Case Green in Â鶹Æƽâ°æ green for two nights. Saturday night also featured a vibrant fireworks display.

The traditional weekend welcoming Â鶹Æƽâ°æ families included opportunities to explore campus, tours of the and Art Gallery, faculty presentations, chances to learn about unique student experiences on and off campus made possible by the Zankel Experience Network and other programs, athletics competitions, networking opportunities, receptions for first-year students, a Filene Scholar concert commemorating Helen Filene Ladd '22, and much, much more. Â鶹Æƽâ°æ 600 families and 2,000 people participated.

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ’s origins extend to the Young Women’s Industrial Club founded by Lucy Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Scribner in 1903. In 1922, the New York State Board of Regents officially recognized the institution’s collegiate status, and Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College came into being as a fully accredited, four-year institution of higher education.
