A public event to commemorate the Trees of Peace planted by Jake Tekaronianeken Swamp (1940-2010), Kanien’keha’:ka (Mohawk) Leader and founder of the Tree of Peace Society.  A stone marker will be dedicated near the tree of peace at High Rock Park to ensure that visitors know that the White Pine tree is a Rotinonshonni (Iroquois) symbol of peace and unity for all people. On the same day, a newly-planted Tree of Peace will be dedicated on the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College campus. Tom Sakokwenionkwas Porter, Founder and Spiritual Leader of Kanatsiohareke Mohawk Community, will dedicate the marker at High Rock Park and the Tree of Peace at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College.
